Check out our video of our Young Grenfell Heroes explaining why you should join the gardening group this April.

Young NHS Service user consultants, also known as Young Grenfell Heroes say that being a part of gardening group for young people has supported their wellbeing in many ways.

The gardening group is one of several, run by the Grenfell Health and Wellbeing Service, to promote wellbeing and resilience-building amongst our service users.

“When you see the plants growing and the seasons changing, it feels really nice. Also, you’re helping nature because it helps you breathe and gives nutrients to the world. When you eat something you’ve planted you feel happier, which leads you to be healthier. That’s why the gardening group has helped me a lot”, says Aisha, one of the Young Grenfell Heroes.

Research shows that gardening improves our physical, mental and social wellbeing. It can make us happy, reduce social isolation, and improve depression and anxiety, among other things.

Our Grenfell Children and Young People’s Gardening Group will be starting a new group in April.

The gardening group will be taking new members (aged 8 to 18) when it resumes on Tuesday 18 April. It will run every Tuesday after school, from 4pm to 5pm, at the Service garden, W10.

There are limited spaces available. If you’re interested please email Farah Amaioua at: Grenfell.wellbeingservice@nhs.net
