The work of the Grenfell Health and Wellbeing Service (GHWS) Cultural Consultation Steering Group has been recognised at the Central and North West London NHS Trust 2024 Therapies Awards.
The awards ceremony took place on Tuesday 3 December at Trust Headquarters where the team had reached the finalist stage from a total of 70 nominations.
The steering group coordinates a monthly space to ensure that the GHWS continues to develop its ability to offer a culturally aware and responsive service. The multidisciplinary team deftly challenges hierarchy and ‘expertise’, supporting the team to address power and eurocentrism and enhance cultural awareness. Since 2018, they have organised open reflective and structured teachings sessions with internal and external speakers, plus generated our Cultural Competency Framework and Assessment Tool.
Craig Hobart, Service Manager for Grenfell Health and Wellbeing Service said: “We are immensely proud of the team, they are dedicated to making change and ensuring that as a service we are continually learning and evolving so as to best serve our community.
“As a service we support the team as they continue to do this important work.”
