3.jpgCongrats to our team who won this year’s Big Cook Off on the weekend, with their recreation of BBQ chicken with orange, thyme and honey, and foraged flowers. They also made two side dishes of Mediterranean raw and roasted vegetable salad with BBQ garlic and Moroccan spiced carrots.

If you didn’t know, the Big Cook Off is an annual event that’s been running in North Kensington since 2018, to bring together local residents and service providers to cook together in a friendly competition aimed at raising funds to support local people.

Each team had to replicate the chicken dish provided by the organisers, as well as create two side dishes of their choice using ingredients from the pantry.

Altogether there were 12 teams, who were judged by a group of well-known chefs, including MasterChef’s Clare Smyth, Jonny Bone, Chris Denney, Gilad Peled and Matt Abé from Gordon Ramsey’s restaurant.

Our team was made up of Farrah H, Camillia, Angela H, Naima, Silvia and Lucy. They faced off against the local police, the fire brigade, the Westway Trust, RBKC local counsellors and Lancaster West Estate.

Well done to them.
