People living, working and volunteering in the Grenfell community joined in a workshop today on suicide prevention, on World Suicide Prevention Day.

The event was hosted by Golborne and Notting Dale Community Champions, the Grenfell Health and Wellbeing Service (GHWS), and support from a Service User Consultant with GHWS.

The session was facilitated by Dr Sue Williams, Chartered Counselling Psychologist, with the Adult Therapy Team at GHWS. It looked at things like identifying warning signs that someone might be considering suicide, how to open a conversation on the topic and how to help someone who is struggling.

Attendees shared very powerful, first-hand accounts and experiences of suicide, and shared learning.
