You can practise mindfulness when doing just about anything, during activities you do every day.

Mindfulness is the act of paying attention to the present moment including our own thoughts, feelings and the world around us, without judgement. It can help to ease difficult feelings.

If you looked at our previous videos in our Mindfulness and Me series for instance, you’ll have heard some of our staff talk about practising mindfulness when praying, walking, taking a shower (see below).

Saquib Ahmed, Senior CBT and EMDR Psychotherapist at the Grenfell Health and Wellbeing Service says it’s easier if you’re passionate about something.

“You don’t have to be passionate about meditating, you can do something mindfully. I cook mindfully and I eat mindfully,” he says.
