The NHS is here for you. This will be a very difficult time for many people, and we are here to provide any emotional and wellbeing support that is needed.

The safest way to mark the anniversary is to hold an event online, and we understand that many people will choose to do this. We are in the middle of a pandemic, and in North Kensington we need to be more cautious because the South African variant has been found to be present in the local area.

Please check the covid-19 guidelines to help keep everyone safe.

You can get the most up to date guidance here: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/covid-19-coronavirus-restrictions-what-you-can-and-cannot-do

If you’re planning an event that meets covid-19 guidelines, please contact us if you want emotional support at your event.

We would need to know if you require our support by Monday 7 June.

This might be helpful because some people may experience a mix of strong emotions such as feelings of loss, sadness, anger, and some may relive symptoms of trauma like remembering what has happened. Everyone is different and may have a different experience.

You can reach us by calling 020 8637 6279 from 8am to 8pm or emailing grenfell.wellbeingservice@nhs.net

Things to consider

Although covid-19 restrictions are gradually lifting, there are things you may need to consider to make sure that everyone stays safe.

  • For indoor events – you can meet with six people you do not live with or two households.
  • For outdoor events – Up to 30 people can gather in an outdoor space. People should keep their distance from others they do not live with or share a support bubble with. Remember, some people may not show symptoms and may unknowingly spread covid-19 with their loved ones.
  • If you have a continuous cough, a headache or loss of smell and taste you should stay home.
  • These rules apply even if you’ve had the covid-19 vaccine because you can still pass the virus onto others.

Whether you go to an event or whether you mark this sad time online or in other ways, we are here to support you. If you need emotional support during the Anniversary, please reach out to the Grenfell Health and Wellbeing Service by calling 0208 637 6279 everyday from 8am to 8pm. After 8pm and out of hours please call the CNWL Advice Support line on 0800 0234 650.

We stand with you during this difficult time.

Yours Sincerely,

David Bailey
