The NHS is here for you as we approach the fifth anniversary of the Grenfell Tower fire. Most people will feel a wide range of feelings over this time and we are here to provide any emotional and wellbeing support that is needed.
As in previous years, we will be present at various venues across the community, and supporting community events on the day itself.
Our staff will be at the following venues wearing green shirts and with our NHS lanyards:
- The Curve and Silent March from 9.30am until the end of the march
- MCWG throughout the day
- Lancaster West
- Westminster memorial service
- Grenfell United Memorial Service by the Tower in the afternoon
Keep up to date with our plans on our website and social media.
Looking after our wellbeing
It is very normal to experience a mix of strong emotions, but it can also feel very upsetting; so if you are feeling upset, you will not be the only person. Around anniversaries of such terrible loss, feelings of loss, sadness, and anger are often experienced. People may once again feel numb or exceptionally tired, and some people may relive symptoms of trauma, like vividly remembering what has happened. Everyone is different and may have a different experience.
At times like these it is very easy to forget that there are things that you can do to look after your wellbeing. We often forget that by taking care of ourselves, it means we are able to take care of others. We all have something of value to contribute, and together we can make sure that we are all being cared for.
Our Roadmap to Wellbeing Services provides information on where you can find support in the community.
Follow us on social media for more useful information on looking after our wellbeing during the anniversary.
If you need emotional support during the Anniversary, please contact the Grenfell Health and Wellbeing Service by calling 0208 637 6279 everyday from 8am to 8pm. After 8pm and out of hours please call the CNWL Advice Support line on 0800 0234 650.
